A free & Open Town hall-style Teleconference For Business Aviation Safety

Launched in 2014 by our affiliate company, AeronomX, and previously called the ‘Safety Officer Teleconferences’, we’ve brought industry professionals together every 2nd and 4th Wednesday for candid conversations about real-world safety strategies and challenges. Over the years these calls have been host to thousands of participants and numerous high profile safety professional interviews.

“Safety Shout-out” is a LIVE telephone conference call, Town Hall-style with frequent guest speakers and participating audience members. The call is recorded and then posted here as a podcast.

Rules & Guidelines for call Participants

  • These calls are intended for Business Aviation Professionals and Safety Officers.

  • There is no cost to join a live call or listen to the recordings. There is no obligation to be a customer of Safety Standup or its affiliated businesses to participate or benefit. The intent of these calls is for open and candid discussion of current aviation safety issues and SMS processes.

  • To cut down on background noise and interruptions, please use your phone's mute button and only un-mute when you wish to speak. While we have controls to force-mute everyone, we prefer to keep background noise distraction to a minimum.

  • These calls are not for promoting products or services. If a listener feels a particular product or service helps solve a problem actively being discussed on the call, then it is OK to mention it by name. And please, the reverse is true- no negative comments of any products or services by name.

  • Though the teleconference computer says to announce yourself, it's best that you do not. We encourage everyone remain anonymous. Please limit introductions to first name only before you are about to comment on the call. Only share additional information about your department or aircraft if necessary to the nature of the question.

  • The call starts promptly at 11:30AM Eastern Time in the USA and will not exceed 35-45 minutes in call length. Join whenever you can, but please commit to the entirety if planning to comment.
Calls are held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month unless otherwise stated. See the date of the next upcoming call in the banner above.

  • We have had up to 90 people on previous calls and average about 25, so it is impossible for everyone to talk – usually a few people will drive the conversation. This varies on every call.

If you have a question or safety concern that you definitely want to be asked or brought up on a call, anonymously or not, please email the host, Walter, at info@safetystandup.com prior to the call. Walter will make sure your question is read aloud and addressed by the group.
