About ASAP

ASAP is short for Aviation Safety Action Program. As per the FAA, a report/disclosure made by any of your employees submitted within your SMS, that they also select to be likewise reported to the FAA within an ASAP program, will follow the guidelines of the Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) between your organization and the FAA. The MOU states how the report will be reviewed, even though it may have involved a possible violation of the FARs, any possible enforcement by the FAA is to follow your MOU. Basically, enforcement is whatever you and the FAA agree to as the means of correcting a reported incident. There is no additional penalties by the FAA and there is no record of a violation on the airman’s record. For additional information, CLICK HERE for the FAA webpage on ASAP. ASAP enhances safety reporting and is a great benefit to your organization. There are of course some limitations, such as, it does not tolerate criminal acts, alcohol or substance abuse, or any intentional or reckless acts.

About FOQA

FOQA is short for Flight Operational Quality Assurance. Also know as FDM, or Flight Data Monitoring. For those operators that have aircraft equipped with digital flight data recorders (“FDR”), a FOQA program involves downloading the data from the FDR at regular intervals, de-identifying the data, analyzing the aircraft’s performance within an established set of flight parameters, and then reporting back to the operator what is to be learned from the data. FOQA stands for Flight Operations

Safety Standup is also working with leading-edge FDM apps in developing an EZ-FOQA program.

The highest value of a FOQA program is the early identification of adverse safety trends that, if uncorrected, could lead to accidents. For additional information, CLICK HERE for the FAA webpage on FOQA, though an operator does not need FAA approval to establish FOQA. Sometimes also referred to as C-FOQA when involving Corporate jet aircraft, there is much to learn from the statistical analysis of the flight data.
